Erik ten Hag is expected to make three changes to the XI that defeated Fulham as Manchester United face FC Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Manchester United saved their graces in their last game thanks to a Bruno Fernandes 90-th minute winner to defeat Fulham 1-0 in the Premier League, with it being the first victory in three games for Erik ten Hag’s club.

They next face FC Copenhagen in the Champions League as they attempt to recover from their opening two losses in the competition, where they currently sit 3rd in their group and one place off knock-out qualification.

Andrè Onana has performed admirably of late, and will no doubt start against Copenhagen after saving a last-minute penalty against them last time out. In front of him are two expected changes, with Raphaël Varane and Sergio Reguilón coming in for Jonny Evans and Aaron Wan-Bissaka for fitness reasons.

Wan-Bissaka has only just returned from injury, so after starting against Fulham, his minutes must be managed, and as Jonny Evans is approaching 36 years of age, his minutes must be carefully selected, too. Round off the back four will be Diogo Dalot at right-back and Harry Maguire partnering Varane after a series of good displays.

In midfield, one change is expected. Christian Eriksen, who occupied a deep role against Fulham, is expected to be dropped while Sofyan Amrabat fills in at the base of midfield. Goalscorer Bruno Fernandes will certainly keep his place while Scott McTominay is also likely to feature. This, unfortunately, does not leave room for Mason Mount.

In attack, Rasmus Højlund is expected to lead the line against his old club. Despite being yet to score in the Champions League, the young Danish striker has three goals so far in the Champions League and may extend this goal tally on Wednesday evening.

After being heavily criticised for his performance, ANtony may find himself placed on the bench against Copenhagen with Facundo Pellistri replacing him on the right wing, with many feeling that the Uruguayan winger deserves a chance after coming on to change the game against Fulham, providing the assist for Fernandes’ winning goal.

Finally, Marcus Rashford is expected to come back into the XI after missing the Fulham tie due to a minor training injury.

Predicted Man United XI to face Copenhagen:

Onana, Dalot, Maguire, Varane, Reguilón, Amrabat, McTominay, Fernandes, Pellistri, Højlund, Rashford.
