Erik ten Hag taking Sir Alex Ferguson advice as Man United scout two wonderkids
Manchester United have sent scouts to Brazil to monitor several young Brazilian stars according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils have re-entered the South American market to look for young talent.
Erik ten Hag’s side currently has four players from the continent – five if you include Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho, although the teenager grew up in Spain and was signed from Atletico Madrid.

Casemiro, Lisandro Martínez, Antony, and Facundo Pellistri have continued a trend from the back end of Sir Alex Ferguson’s tenure at Old Trafford.
The legendary manager tapped into the South American talent pool towards the end of his 26-year career at the club.
Bringing in the likes of Rafael and Fabio da Silva, Anderson, Antonio Valencia, and Javier Hernandez were examples of the Scotsman and United’s increasing focus on that particular market for several reasons.
“Our scouting there has increased,” Ferguson told the club’s official Inside United magazine back in 2012 when speaking about ramping up recruitment in South America. “We have got an operative in Mexico, two in Brazil and four South American scouts now.
“Quite frankly, they do produce. You see Antonio Valencia – he is as tough as nails with great discipline about him. The South Americans love playing football, it is just in their blood. The three Brazilians – Anderson, Rafael and Fabio – love it and are first to training every morning. It is a breath of fresh air.
“Chicharito [Hernandez] has a fantastic attitude to playing and everything else. It is really good. So we have done very well in Central and South America in the last two or three years.”

Now, Ten Hag and the club appear to be following in the footsteps of the former manager, with Fabrizio Romano providing details on interest for Lorran of Flamengo and Palmeiras midfielder Luis Guilherme.
Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Keep an eye also on Manchester United in South America because in recent weeks Manchester United, as I told you, sent their scouts, as well as Chelsea, to follow Lorran from Flamengo, this talented Brazilian boy.
“Man United scouts were in attendance to follow this player. But from what I’m hearing, there is also one more player being monitored by Manchester United.
“This is Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras, one more Brazilian talent. Someone from Manchester United’s scouting department is travelling around Brazil to keep an eye on these players.
“Let’s see what is going to happen because, for example, on Luis Guilherme, there are more than five important European clubs – from Germany, from England, from different countries – so, work in progress on that one. But let’s see what Man Utd will decide to do because they are scouting many players also in South America.”
