Erik ten Hag reacts to incredible Casemiro performance for Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest

Erik ten Hag was delighted with Casemiro’s performance in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening.

The victory sent United one point behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League rankings, with the goals coming from Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Fred.

However, Casemiro produced one of the best midfield performances that Old Trafford has seen in many years. He assisted Fred’s goal at the end to top off his performance.

The Brazilian was one of his country’s best players at the World Cup and has returned to club football in that exact same form.

“I cannot deny it, I can only confirm,” a smiling Ten Hag admitted when asked about the midfielder’s great performance. “It’s a pleasure to work with him and I think everyone sees how important his role is.

“The level he brings to the team is huge,” he added.

Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes were two others that performed to a high level for their nations during the World Cup. They also have returned with fire in their bellies.

Ten Hag expressed his thoughts on the progression of the players that appeared at the Qatar-based tournament.

“I think they grow throughout the season. I think our players performed really well at the World Cup and now they continue.

“Stay on that level and keep going, progress from game to game.”
