Erik ten Hag praises Newcastle star before Manchester United’s clash in Premier League
Erik ten Hag has praised Newcastle United midfielder Lewis Miley before Manchester United’s clash at St James’ Park in the Premier League.
The Reds face Eddie Howe’s side away from home as they look to build on some positive form in the Premier League.
Ten Hag’s side have won five of their last six outings in the division and sit sixth in the table.
In midfield for United is Kobbie Mainoo, as the young talent starts consecutive Premier League games after his full debut against Everton last weekend.
However, on the other hand, the Magpies have their own talented player in the engine room.
Lewis Miley starts in the midfield for the third game in a row after positive displays against Chelsea and PSG in midweek.
United manager Ten Hag has praised the fact that two young English players are able to start in this game for both teams.
“It tells something about the great potential of English football,” he told club media. “Such young kids are coming up. It’s good for the academies, gives them recognition that they are ready to play.”
The United manager also stated that he’s looking for a quick dynamic approach from his side at St James’ Park.
“We have to build on our performances lately and so we are in the right direction. This is a big test against Newcastle, they are difficult to play so we have to play our best.
“I expect something from my team in terms of transitions and intensity.”
