Erik ten Hag makes Manchester United fan promise about “not happy” Marcus Rashford
Erik ten Hag has made a promise to Manchester United fans about Marcus Rashford after explaining that the English winger is “not happy” about his recent form.
Marcus Rashford has suffered from a bout of poor form in a Manchester United shirt this season, having scored just one goal in 15 appearances and was sent off for an alleged ankle stamp against Copenhagen.
The red card was incredibly harsh but represents the tough season that Rashford is going through so far, with the winger having no luck under Erik ten Hag.
His poor form has not gone unnoticed, with the manager himself saying that both Rashford and the club are not happy with his performances so far this campaign.
“He is not happy. We are not happy,” Ten Hag explained in his pre-match press conference. “He has high expectations from himself, at the moment he is not in his best form but I know he will be back.”
Ten Hag did, however, make the promise to United fans that Rashford will be back on track, and that may come “very quickly”.
He continued: “He’s totally in the team and aware of everything. he will be back on track and it can happen very quickly. Sometimes you only need one game and I’m sure he will get there.”
Rashford scored 30 goals in a season for the first time in his career last campaign, and with United misfiring on all lines so far, a return to normal form will be greatly appreciated by all involved.
United will host Luton on Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford in a bit to keep their hopes of qualifying for the next Champions League campaign alive.
