Erik ten Hag has hinted that Amad Diallo may start as Manchester United welcome Fulham to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United will face Fulham at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon without star striker Rasmus Højlund, who is facing a short spell on the sidelines.

Erik ten Hag‘s club stated on Friday afternoon explaining that Højlund will be out for a few weeks with a muscle injury, and the manager himself admitted that it has come as a result of high-intensity training.

With Højlund a key part of United’s front line, Ten Hag has now hinted that those players who did not have a chance to play during the first half of the season or were injured and couldn’t do so will now get their time on the pitch.

In attack, this strongly hints at a potential start for young winger Amad Diallo, who spent a large portion of the first half of the season with a knee injury that he sustained during a pre-season game against Arsenal in New Jersey.

“We saw players who didn’t have the chance in the first half of the season, or they were injured,” Ten Hag explained in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

“And now, they will get opportunities, and now it’s about them to be confident.”

With Højlund and Anthony Martial unavailable through injury, United will almost certainly have to play Marcus Rashford as a striker. This would mean that Alejandro Garnacho would, therefore, move onto the left-wing, leaving the right-wing space free.

Although Antony has played there on many occasions under Ten Hag, he has dropped out of favour in recent months, and it would be a perfect chance for Amad to start at Old Trafford.
