Erik ten Hag has opened up about latest injury in Manchester United squad
Manager Erik ten Hag has revealed that Rasmus Hojlund is doubtful for United’s Premier League match against Wolves on August 14.
Denmark’s Rasmus Højlund, one of the hottest prospects in European football, signed for Manchester United at the end of last month for an initial £60 million fee. With the signing of the Dane, United put an end to their knack of signing 30+ players to fill up their centre-forward role.
Having been unveiled in United’s pre-season match against RC Lens at Old Trafford, Højlund is currently suffering from a minor injury and is hence doubtful for the Red Devils’ Premier League opener.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Ten Hag was asked about the availability of United’s star signing from Atalanta. The Dutch manager stated that although Højlund’s recovery process is going well, it is still difficult to put a date on his Manchester United debut.
“It is difficult to say, how that process will go, but I think he is making good progress at this moment,” he said. “We have to see, day by day, how the progress will go, and then we have to follow up.
“Of course, when he’s available and he’s here, you have the option to play, but we don’t expect him on that short notice to be 100 per cent fit. So we have to wait some time more.”
With Hojlund unavailable on Monday, Ten Hag will most probably deploy Marcus Rashford in the central role, with Alejandro Garnacho and Antony on either wing.
Manchester United will lock horns with Premier League rivals Wolves on Monday 14 August for a 20:00 BST kick-off.
