Erik ten Hag discusses two key talking points before Man United vs Wrexham
Erik ten Hag has addressed the experience Manchester United youngsters will get from the pre-season friendly against Wrexham.
The Reds play the League Two outfit at 03:30 BST early on Wednesday morning and Ten Hag has a young side for the game.
He has explained how the game is good for their development and how it will help them going forward. But adds that a win is expected when they play for the first-team.
“This is a great experience and very good for their development,” he said. “I’m sure it will make them better football players, tonight will help them. I think it’s part of their education because one day, we expect them to come up.
“Then, they already have the experience of what it’s like to be a player for Manchester United. As I’ve said, it will help them in a season, but also, we want to have a good game and we want to make improvements as a team.
We want to win because if you’re Man United, you have to win, that’s a demand.”
Jonny Evans also starts the game after signing a short-term deal at the club to play pre-season fixtures alongside the young players.
Ten Hag discussed Evans and said: “I think it’s very beneficial. I had the same at Bayern Munich with their U21s and experienced players. They can guide the young players and it’s so beneficial, in the way they way and how they want to improve.
“He will support the youngsters and for him, it’s also good because he wants to get fit, he still wants to play football. It’s very good for both sides.”
