Erik ten Hag confirms injury news on three Manchester United players
Erik ten Hag has issued updates on three Manchester United players ahead of their Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday evening.
After defeating Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final 7-6 on penalties, Manchester United travel to North London in a bid to further strengthen their position in the Premier League’s top four as they face Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite the nervy but uplifting victory on Sunday, Erik ten Hag was hampered by the loss of Bruno Fernandes, whose right foot was pictured in a protective boot on Monday afternoon.
Fernandes was substituted in the 101st minute of the fixture at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon and was originally seen walking as normal at full-time, however, his availability was thrown into question following the photo.
Speaking on Fernandes’ availability, Ten Hag confirmed that Fernandes may be unavailable for the fixture – and also confirmed that Raphael Varane will stay with Lisandro Martinez on the sidelines until further notice.
“There are some unavailable – Martinez, Varane,” he said during his pre-match press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
“We have to see how Bruno Fernandes is, we don’t know yet. Is a question mark. But I think for the rest, we are quite okay.”
Ten Hag further commented on the situation surrounding Fernandes’ injury, saying: “It’s more often that players, we protect them, prevention but it has to settle down.
“We have seen he played a full game and it happened in the first half. But tomorrow is quick, we have to see what is possible.”
After an initial injury scare against Sevilla last week, Luke Shaw was confirmed as fit to play against Brighton and racked up 120 minutes at centre-back, keeping a clean sheet alongside Victor Lindelof.
Marcus Rashford recently returned from injury to come off the bench against Sevilla and start against Brighton, and Harry Maguire is now available for selection once again after serving a one-match ban that prevented him from playing in the recent semi-final.
