“Very underrated…” – Donny van de Beek praises Man United star in Ajax interview
Donny van de Beek has named one Manchester United star as his most underrated teammate ever while speaking to Ajax media.
Van de Beek, 27, has had a tough few years since joining United in the summer of 2020. He is currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt but has started just four Bundesliga games.
He moved on loan in the January transfer window after making just two appearances for Erik ten Hag’s side in the first half of the season.
It appears likely that the Dutch midfielder will finally depart on a permanent deal this summer, with INEOS planning major changes at Old Trafford.
Van de Beek’s agent has claimed that Ajax is not a potential destination for his player. Yet, the midfielder has left a return to Amsterdam open himself.
“Why not? Ajax has always been a special place for me, so we certainly cannot rule that out,” he claimed earlier this month.
“At Ajax, only one thing matters: winning and becoming champions. I have also had mixed years due to injuries. But now I’m looking forward again.”

In fact, the 27-year-old returned to his former club to conduct an interview this week, and he also took part in some quick-fire questions.
Asked to name the most underrated player he’s ever played with, the Netherlands international replied: “Luke Shaw. Very underrated player. He’s very good.”
Shaw has been one of United’s best players when fit in recent years, but his injury troubles have always been a large cloud over his head.
The defender is currently out of action and is a doubt to return for the FA Cup final against Manchester City later this month.
