Manchester United’s latest signing Leon Leon has made one promise to the club’s supporters after his move to Old Trafford was made official.
Paraguayan wonderkid Diego Leon has officially joined Manchester United, following an initial agreement reached back in January.
Leon is the latest promising prospect to bolster United’s growing youth ranks, joining the likes of Sekou Kone, Ayden Heaven, and Chido Obi — all acquired for modest fees but full of potential.
Heaven and Obi have already broken into Ruben Amorim’s first-team setup, while Kone turned heads with a standout performance in a post-season friendly that marked his unofficial debut.
The 18-year-old arrives from Cerro Porteño and his bold ambition to challenge for first-team minutes in the upcoming season is clear.
Leon makes one promise to United fans
Leon is the latest South American addition at Old Trafford and players from that region are often known for their fierce mentality and winning edge.
The teenager is no different, and has promised United fans that he is ready to give 100 per cent every day while representing the club.
“First of all, I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to defend such a great badge as Manchester United,” Leon wrote on Instagram.
“I promise to give my best every day, in training, on the pitch, and off it. Thank you to the club for the trust and to my family for always being by my side.
“I hope to bring a lot of joy to all the Manchester United fans and everyone who supports me on this journey. One more goal achieved. From Paraguay to the world. Let’s go Red Devils!”
United hint that Leon won’t be loaned out
There have been suggestions that Leon could head out on loan this season to get consistent first-team minutes ahead of an Old Trafford return in a years’ time.
However, that doesn’t seem to be the plan for the Paraguayan talent after the club seemed to hint that he will remain at United in their statement on his announcement.
“Leon reached the age of 18 in April and as an emerging talent will be supported by our first team and the Academy whilst he settles into life in Manchester,” part of the statement read.

This suggests that he will stay put, with it seeming like the most likely plan for Leon is for him to stay at Old Trafford to play in the Under-21s while also getting opportunities with the first-team squad.
