Declan Rice sends Mason Mount 3-word message after providing Man United injury update
Mason Mount has provided an update on his Manchester United injury, and Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice is looking forward to his return.
Mount, 25, signed for United last summer but has struggled to integrate at Old Trafford after several injury setbacks.
The England international’s last appearance came against Luton Town in mid-November. He has been out of action since then through a calf injury.
United have been struck with several injury setbacks throughout the season so far, with the likes of Lisandro Martínez and Luke Shaw also currently unavailable.
It has recently been reported that Mount is edging closer to a return to action. He will not be back in time to face Manchester City this weekend, however.
Mount has taken to Instagram to provide an update on his recovery to supporters. The midfielder posted an image of him working at Carrington with the caption: “Progress.”
Former academy teammate at Chelsea and fellow England international Declan Rice has responded to the update from Mount.
“What a sight,” wrote Rice in response to Mount’s social media post, adding a heart face emoji at the end of his message.
The pair are well-known to be good friends away from the pitch. Rice made a big-money move to Arsenal in the same summer when Mount swapped Chelsea for United.
Mount has played just eight Premier League fixtures for The Reds, with only four of those being starts.
