“Couldn’t believe!” Roy Keane BLASTS four Manchester United players following Arsenal loss
Roy Keane has blasted four of Manchester United’s players following their 1-0 loss against Arsenal, leaving them 8th in the Premier League table.
Manchester United fell to yet another defeat as Arsenal secured a 1-0 victory over Erik ten Hag‘s men at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
It was Leandro Trossard who secured all three points for Mikel Arteta’s men during the penultimate game week of the season, slotting in Kai Havertz’s cutback during the first half.
It was United’s 14th defeat of the campaign in the Premier League, which is a new record – the club have never lost that many fixtures in a single campaign in the competition. They have also lost 19 games in all competitions, their most in a single campaign since 1977-78.
Speaking after the game, Roy Keane lambasted four players for their lack of basic technique during the second half of the fixture.
Keane’s rant
Analysing the fixture after full-time, Roy Keane decided to focus on United’s front four, made up of Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Rasmus Højlund, and Scott McTominay, for not “getting the basics right.”
United aren’t even getting the basics right,” Keane explained on Sky Sports. “We’re talking about the bits at the end there. Decent delivery, put crosses in at the right time, play one-twos, the decision-making from the attacking players in the second half for United.
“You were sitting next to me; I was getting really frustrated; I just couldn’t believe what I was watching. That’s just that lack of quality decision-making. Quick play, went to cross it, went to take two touches, three touches, they seem to be getting it all wrong.
“So poor, and then the goal they’re giving away today. Listen, I’m going to repeat myself this whole year, schoolboy stuff.”
