Contract details, wages, debut date: Everything you need to know about Bryan Mbeumo to Man Utd

Manchester United have signed Bryan Mbeumo as Rúben Amorim looks to add extra goals to his front line ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Manchester United have made Bryan Mbeumo their third signing of the summer as Rúben Amorim continues to strengthen the club’s front line.

Mbeumo made his decision to sign for United very early on in the transfer window, but it took United six weeks to finally nail down an agreement with Brentford, with the ultimate transfer fee coming to a guarantee of £65 million with a further £6 million in add-ons.

The 25-year-old enters Carrington as the club’s third summer signing, following South American duo Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon through the doors.

Mbeumo is expected to become the club’s new first-choice right forward, with Amad expected to start the coming season as a wing-back and connect with his new teammates across pre-season and beyond.

Mbeumo’s contract details, wages, and debut

Mbeumo signed a new five-year contract until 2030 on Sunday afternoon, with United retaining the option to extend this by a further season, as is standard in all their contracts.

As far as his wages are concerned, it has been reported that the Cameroon international will initially earn a base salary of around £150,000 a week, plus bonuses, tripling his previous £50,000 a week contract at Brentford.

However, if and when United next qualify for the Champions League, this will increase to around £200,000 a week, plus bonuses.

Barring injury, Mbeumo’s official debut will come when the club line up against Arsenal on 17 August during the Premier League’s opening weekend of the season.

However, fans will be able to watch the new signing in action up to four times prior across pre-season, with the club facing West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton in the United States before welcoming David de Gea’s Fiorentina to Old Trafford.

The first of these four ties will be Mbeumo’s opening minutes in Red, coming against the Hammers at 00:00 BST on 27 July.

What are the next steps for United?

With Mbeumo through the door at Old Trafford, United are now turning their attention to signing a new striker.

Amorim will be keen to have as many of his new recruits as possible available at his disposal before United line up against Arsenal. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, United want a new striker and goalkeeper before the summer window closes at the end of August.

However, with Mbeumo and Cunha’s arrival costing the club £127.5 million, most, if not all, of their summer budget has been depleted.

To fund a new striker, goalkeeper, and possibly midfielder, United will have to complete several sales. Rashford is heading to Barcelona, while Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia are all expected to be moved on.
