Confirmed Officials: Leeds United vs Manchester United (Premier League)
The match officials have been confirmed for Manchester United’s Premier League trip to Elland Road as they face off against Leeds United.
After a thrilling 2-2 draw at Old Trafford, Manchester United and Leeds cross paths again in Yorkshire on Sunday.
An unusual series of back-to-back matches between the two long-time rivals was made possible by the rescheduled midweek encounter, with the Red Devils rallying from two goals behind to earn a draw on Wednesday.
Match Referee
When Leeds hosts United, Paul Tierney will be in control of the proceedings. The 42-year-old has officiated 17 Premier League games this season, including United’s 3-1 triumph over Arsenal back in September.
Tierney isn’t hesitant to brand his cards, especially a yellow, as evidenced by the 486 yellow cards he has handed out in the 145 Premier League games he has overseen. Only 11 of the cards he has issued in his Premier League tenure have been red, indicating that under his supervision, incidents hardly ever go past a yellow card.
Assistant Referees
Constantine Hatzidakis & Neil Davies are set to oversee the linesmen duties at Elland Road. The pair have assisted 333 games combined in the Premier League.
The fourth official stationed between Erik ten Hag and Leeds’ caretaking trio of coaches is Andy Madley.
Video Assistant Referee (VAR)
The pair at Stockley Park in charge of VAR is Michael Salisbury and his assistant Simon Long.
