Confirmed Man United XI to face Wrexham in pre-season friendly
Manchester United have confirmed their starting XI to face Wrexham in San Diego in the early hours on Wednesday morning.
The encounter kicks-off at 03:30 BST in the Snapdragon Stadium and will include a host of young talent.
Of course, Erik ten Hag used a lot of youngsters in United’s opening two pre-season fixtures and that worked to great effect. All three goals against Leeds United and Lyon were scored in the second half when Ten Hag rotated the team to have more academy players in.
With the first-team regulars expected to play against Real Madrid on Thursday, the encounter against the newly promoted Football League side provides a great opportunity for many of those youngsters to impress Ten Hag again.
A young group includes the experienced head of Jonny Evans, who has signed for the club on a short-term deal to take part in the pre-season alongside the academy talent.
There is also a few players who travelled with the first-team to play against Arsenal that feature, as they are unlikely to get much game time as the first-team players look to get more than 45 minutes per game under their belt.
That includes the likes of Alvaro Fernandez, Dan Gore and Hannibal Mjebri – however, Kobbie Mainoo is not involved as he is expected to feature against Real Madrid.
