Chris Sutton has expressed his opinions on the Tottenham attack during his predictions for Saturdays game, giving United stars hope.
Manchester United face Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at 12:30 on Saturday. United currently sit on level points with Thomas Frank’s side in the Premier League and the fixture will be crucial to either team breaking into the European spots.
Tottenham beat United four times last season including a win in the Europa League final. Ruben Amorim’s Reds will be looking to continue their Premier League form where they are unbeaten in four games.
Amorim has began breaking some frustrating United curses during this streak by beating Liverpool at Anfield for the first time since 2015 and beating Brighton at Old Trafford for the first time since 2022. He will be looking to break another streak with United failing to win any of their last seven games against Tottenham.
Thomas Frank’s Tottenham come off of a mixed run of form. A 1-0 loss at home to Chelsea last week was followed up by a 4-0 win over FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Chris Sutton’s predictions express confusion over where Tottenhams goals will come from
Ex-Premier league striker Chris Sutton shared his predictions for the weekend fixtures on the BBC website saying that “It’s hard to know how to view Tottenham at the moment, especially at home where they have been pretty underwhelming in the Premier League so far.”.
Sutton’s confusion over the North London side’s form continued. He added: “It is still hard to make a case for them to overcome Manchester United because I am not really sure where their goals are going to come from.”
Tottenham’ current Premier League top scorers are Richarlison, who missed a penalty on Tuesday, and centre-back Micky van de Ven who both currently have three goals this season.
It is likely that Richarlison won’t start, with Kolo Muani being preferred to the Brazilian in the last two games. Injuries for James Maddison, Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski leave Spurs without their full attacking force.
United’s three-man defence will come into the game with confidence following the sparsity of Tottenham goals. Senne Lammens will also be looking to continue his bright start for United.
Sutton still holds questions over Amorim’s United form
Despite praising United’s clear improvement, Sutton added: “I still don’t fully trust them to turn up, especially on the road.”
His clear signs of worry over United’s away form are justified, with United having won just one out of five away games this season.
Sutton went on to predict a 2-2 draw for Saturday’s tie, showing a balance between the two sides form this season and lack of clarity over a clear winner.

Bryan Mbeumo will be looking to continue his great form following his October Premier League Player of the Month win and will likely be United’s main source of goals. Casemiro has also been picking up attacking involvements this season with two goals and an assist in the last two games.
Saturday’s fixture is looking to be a tight affair with both sides needing to break away from one another in the table. Amorim will see this as a key opportunity to bring confidence into the United squad before the international break.
