Chido Obi receives immense praise from MUTV pundit, another Manchester United starlet also has “a lot of potential”

Manchester United starlet Chido Obi received his first-team debut on the weekend as the Reds lost against Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester United fell to a 1-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League clash in North London on Sunday afternoon.
Both sides have struggled this season, but Spurs capitalised on United’s defensive errors to claim the win.
James Maddison was the quickest to react when André Onana failed to handle a shot from Lucas Bergvall, pushing the ball into a dangerous area and gifting Maddison a simple finish.
Ruben Amorim’s team lacked cutting edge in attack, unable to break down a fragile Spurs defence throughout the 90 minutes.
One of the few positives from the game came when Chido Obi made his debut in the final moments of the game. He was unable to make an impact in the short amount of time he was on the pitch but it was a major milestone for the 17-year-old.
MUTV pundit praises Obi
Obi has been excelling in the youth teams since he joined the club earlier this season and most recently scored an impressive hat-trick against Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup.
Ahead of the Spurs game on the weekend, MUTV pundit Danny Webber was full of praise for the Danish striker after his performances at youth level.
“He was really good. I like watching him because I’m a big fan of forwards, big fan of strikers in particular. But more to the point, it’s a case of somebody who’s got a skill set,” said Webber.
“A lot of people go and play as a nine and go and play up front, but from his point of view, he knows the movements.
“He knows when to come to feet, how to hold people off, spin in behind, and more importantly, he knows where the goal is.
“I watched his performance against Chelsea in the Youth Cup the other night, he didn’t even play the full 90. He managed to get his hat trick and he played a big part. He’s a good player.”
Amass also receives praise
Obi was one of seven youth prospects able to get on the pitch from the bench in North London, but the others will be hoping to make an impact soon.
With the injury concerns in the first-team, it is not unrealistic for these young talents to try and strive for minutes in the United side before the end of the season.
Harry Amass will be one of those players. He was an unused substitute on Sunday but will be hoping to make his first-team debut this term.
Webber has also been full of praise for the defender, who he believes has benefited from his time with the first-team in pre-season last year.
Speaking on Amass, he added: “He was another one who played well. When you are a fullback, you are expected nowadays to get up, get back, you know, high intensity all the time.
“And I felt he chose his times to go forward well, when to tuck back in. He really benefited from this preseason with the first team. And I feel that there’s a lot of potential in Harry.”
