Chido Obi Martin sends exciting two-word message to Manchester United teammate, debut soon
Chido Obi Martin has been joined at Manchester United by former Arsenal youth teammate Ayden Heaven after his January move.
Manchester United completed the surprise signing of Ayden Heaven from Arsenal towards the end of the January transfer window.
Heaven, 18, is a left-footed centre-back who has been in and around Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad at Arsenal.
The young defender has immediately entered the first-team picture at Old Trafford and was named on the bench last week against Leicester City in the FA Cup.
He has joined Chido Obi Martin, who also made the move from Arsenal to United earlier in the season despite heavy interest from Bundesliga clubs.
Obi Martin has been excelling in the youth teams and even getting calls to make a first-team debut due to the poor goalscoring within Amorim’s squad.
Obi Martin sends exciting message to Heaven
Heaven will be eyeing his own first-team debut at United, and that will likely be coming much sooner than Obi Martin’s as the defender was signed as a first-team addition.
He is also the only left-footed centre-back within the squad due to the injury of Lisandro Martínez.
Heaven took to Instagram after training earlier this week to reflect on his second week at the club. He posted several images from Carrington, with the caption: “Week 2✅”
In the comments, Obi Martin commented: “Senior player❤️” to which Heaven responded with two monocle emojis.
Perhaps the two players could end up on the same pitch soon, as they did during their time at Hale End together.
Heaven will need to prove he’s ready
United fans have seen a glimpse of Dorgu after his cameo last week and will be exciting to see what Heaven has to offer.
With upcoming games against Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Ipswich Town and Fulham before a clash against Arsenal, it could be difficult for Amorim to throw the youngster into the starting team.

But it is likely that Heaven makes his debut from the bench in that time, with limited options in the backline and the need to rotate and rest players.
Then, it will be up to the player to prove whether he is ready to start games at the highest level.
