Manchester United starlet Chido Obi-Martin has sent a clear message after the Under 18s latest win, and Ruben Amorim will be listening.

Chido Obi-Martin joined Manchester United from Arsenal earlier this season in a huge move for one of the most talented youngsters in the country.

He got off to the perfect start at United, scoring a 13-minute hat-trick in his first start for the Under-18s.

Now, Obi-Martin has continued playing for the U18s and Under-21s as he looks to impress the first-team coaching staff.

He did that once again this weekend during United’s 3-0 win over Stoke City U18s.

The young Reds are so used to blitzing teams away but struggled to open up their strong opposition during the first half.

It was a brilliant moment on the ball from Obi-Martin mid-way through the second half which led to a penalty and their chance to open the scoring.

After signing his first professional contract on his 17th birthday on Friday, Obi-Martin slotted away the spot-kick to give Adam Lawrence’s side the lead.

Further goals from James Scanlon and Dante Plunkett ensured a 3-0 victory for United, who remain with a perfect record in their league season so far.

Chido Obi-Martin sends message after breaking record

Obi-Martin has now scored five goals in the U18s Premier League for United to go on top of his 32-goal haul with Arsenal last term.

This has made the 17-year-old the leading goalscorer in the competition’s history. A great feat for a player who could still be playing at the same level for another year at least.

“Nice team win, happy to become the record goalscorer in the premier league u18’s history,” the teenager posted on Instagram after the game.

However, it is likely that he hopes to be moving on from U18s football soon, with an eye on potential first-team involvement behind the scenes as well.

Ruben Amorim will be excited

Ruben Amorim has got a great record with helping young players develop their game and he will feel excited with some of the talent coming through at Carrington.

Obi-Martin is one of many teenagers who could make their breakthrough under the 39-year-old in the coming years.

In order to do that, he will need to take the next steps and start providing himself at U21s level, but there is a clear and understandable excitement surrounding the striker.
