Chido Obi-Martin: National team boss reveals key talks with Manchester United over 16yo starlet
Chido Obi-Martin’s national team manager has revealed the key talks being held with Manchester United over the 16-year-old starlet.
Manchester United signed Chido Obi-Martin from Arsenal earlier this year after a lengthy period of time following the Premier League ratification process in the summer.
He was finally able to make his debut off the bench in mid-October against Sunderland U18s and then started his first game at home to Nottingham Forest.
Within 14 minutes, he had scored a hat-trick and made his name known to almost every United fan out there. In that game, he was subbed off at half-time after making his impact.
Obi-Martin has now made several appearances this term but is still yet to complete a 90 minute game.
United have been taking his progression slowly after an interrupted pre-season where he was only training individually.

Now, with the young talent heading out on international break, United are ensuring that his progression plan is passed on to those at Denmark.
Denmark U18s boss Morten Esksen has spoken to TipsBladet about Obi-Martin and how they are keeping in close contact with those at Old Trafford.
He admits that Obi-Martin is desperate to make the next step and play 90 minutes, and that it could be a possibility while he’s on international duty with them.
“He has not yet played 90 minutes [for United Under-18s], but he is close, and we are in close cooperation with United in relation to having all his physical data sent over, and looking at how he has played,” Esksen said.
“He wants to be able to go 90 minutes now. That’s his next step and he might do it for us in the next few games.”
