Chido Obi Martin and one other Manchester United starlet have been impressing Ruben Amorim with their recent form.

Manchester United have had mixed form since Ruben Amorim took charge mid-way through November.

The Reds have won five of their opening nine games under the Portuguese boss, with the standout game being the 2-1 comeback win against Manchester City.

There have been positives and negatives from this period, and Amorim is learning important things about the players within his squad.

Many fans have also noted how Amorim utilised the youth system during his time at Sporting, with players like Geovany Quenda coming through when he was manager.

With the Academy at United brimming with talent, there are certainly options for Amorim to use in the long-term.

Three United starlets impressing Amorim

According to Steve Bates, Amorim and his coaching staff have been ‘impressed’ by the attacking duo of Chido Obi Martin and Gabriele Biancheri.

It was explained that the pair have ‘attracted the interest’ of the first-team coach with their performances this season.

They both starred in the recent FA Youth Cup win over Coventry, with Biancheri scoring a hat-trick and Obi Martin grabbing a brace.

Biancheri, in particular, has been in electric goalscoring form this season for the youth teams, scoring 16 goals in 17 games.

His teammate and former Arsenal starlet Obi Martin has been less involved this season after a drawn out transfer process led to him missing pre-season, but he has impressed when on the pitch.

Obi Martin has seven goals and one assist in seven appearances this season and looks like he still has so much more to offer.

This also follows on from reports which claimed that Jack Moorhouse ‘caught the eye’ of Amorim when he watched United’s under-21s win 5-1 against Southampton earlier this month.

However, the aforementioned report from Bates added that Amorim isn’t planning for any first-team promotions just yet, with the head coach fully focused on the existing players in his squad right now.
