Casemiro has sent a supportive message to one of his Manchester United teammates after the 3-2 win over Fulham on the weekend.
Manchester United started brightly once again against Fulham and opened the scoring through Casemiro, who climbed above the defence to head in Bruno Fernandes’ delivery.
The hosts extended their lead early in the second half as Matheus Cunha capitalised on an excellent assist from Casemiro. With United seemingly in full control, both players were substituted as the match looked set for a routine win.
Fulham sparked a late comeback when Raúl Jiménez converted from the penalty spot, before equalising deep into stoppage time.
However, United had the final say, with Benjamin Šeško netting a dramatic late winner to secure all three points and ensure they remained in the top four.
Casemiro and Mainoo shine vs Fulham
Casemiro was named the Man of the Match in this clash after a brilliant display. A goal and an assist came for the Brazilian but his all-round game was also so solid.
That was shown after he was substituted as well, with United looking much more defensively fragile in the final 20 minutes of the game.
But Casemiro was not the only impressive midfielder. Kobbie Mainoo produced yet another standout performance alongside him in the engine room.
The United youngster was at the heart of almost everything United did on the ball and also looked very strong out of possession.
He has now started three Premier League games this season and all three have been victories for the Reds, and this was perhaps his best display so far.
Casemiro praises Mainoo after Fulham win
Mainoo will look to continue performing in the coming games and he has received a big compliment from his midfield partner Casemiro.
The Brazilian posted a picture of them both on his Instagram story after the game and wrote: “Que jugador,” which translates to ‘What a player’ in English.
He was not the only person to praise Mainoo for his display, with Carrick also pleased with the performance of the 20-year-old.

“Without the ball, he was terrific,” the United boss said. “And then with the ball, the ability to cope, he’s not fazed by it. He just plays his game and understands what is needed.
“The moments of quality, it’s what we expect from him, but you also forget how young he is. Seeing him today play with that confidence and belief, it was a real joy to watch.”
