Former Manchester United winger Lee Sharpe has sung the praises of ‘fantastic’ Bryan Mbeumo, and even highlighted a certain attribute that glues the squad together.
Manchester United currently sit eighth in the Premier League table, thanks to a recent turn of positive form, seeing them climb up into the top half.
Ruben Amorim was under a lot of pressure due to the Reds’ start to the season, but with three wins and a draw in their last four, the pressure has since worn off.
This turnaround in form can be attributed to a plethora of factors, but one of the key reasons has been due to United’s summer signings finding their feet.
Senne Lammens has provided some much-needed reliability between the sticks, whilst Bryan Mbeumo has been in red-hot form in front of goal. Former United winger Lee Sharpe has sung the Cameroonian’s praises.
Sharpe on Mbeumo
In an interview with Adventure Gamers, Sharpe said, “Bryan Mbeumo has been absolutely fantastic this season.
“It’s not just his ability to create chances and score goals, but his awareness of what’s going on in the game is what has particularly impressed me.
“He’s always involved in the game in some way – he never switches off, and you can tell that he has previous Premier League experience. His work rate is phenomenal as well – he’s always looking to run into gaps and create space for others.
“For me, he’s right up there with the best wingers in the Premier League at the moment. He’s scoring goals and creating chances, and his stats stack up as some of the best in the division currently.”
United’s forward firepower
Last season, the Reds finished 15th in a dismal campaign, and although there were problems across the board, the key concern was their struggles in front of goal.
United scored a disappointing 44 goals in the league last season, with their two strikers, Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee, combining for only seven goals.

This now looks to be a problem of the past at Old Trafford, with all of Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Šeško and Mbeumo already getting off the mark for the club.
Hopefully, Mbeumo’s fine form can continue for the Red Devils following such high praise from a former United winger, before he departs for the Africa Cup of Nations in December.
