Bryan Mbeumo spotted ‘in conversation’ with Man Utd duo in training, they must build relationship ahead of Arsenal opener

Bryan Mbeumo took part in his first Manchester United session this week and is already building relationships with some of his new teammates.

Manchester United officially completed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford this week in a deal that could rise to £71 million.

The Cameroonian forward was unveiled on Monday evening and joined his first training session the next morning, just before the squad flew out to the United States.

Following his introductory interview, where he expressed his excitement about the move, Mbeumo had the opportunity to meet and train with his new teammates on the pitch on Tuesday.

He was spotted in good spirits and will now be looking forward to his unofficial debut for United in the upcoming pre-season friendly against West Ham this weekend.

Mbeumo connecting with United teammates

On Wednesday, club journalist Adam Marshall wrote on the details of Mbeumo’s first session at Carrington, which included the 25-year-old ‘running the gauntlet’ with a huge grin on his face.

Mbeumo will also be looking to build relationships with his new teammates. He sat alongside Andre Onana on the flight to the United States and was spotted getting to know others in training.

Marshall explained that Mbeumo ‘was initially in conversation with Amad and Leny Yoro‘ before the session began and then was in a small group with them – and fellow new signing Diego Leon – for rondos.

Amad and Yoro both welcomed Mbeumo to the club after the Leeds clash, explaining their excitement for the move, and it seems like they are quickly getting to know their latest teammate.

Mbeumo could start with Yoro and Amad vs Arsenal

While it’s expected that any new signing will gradually integrate into the squad and get to know everyone, developing close relationships with specific teammates can be especially valuable.

Key partnerships, such as those between centre-backs or strikers, rely heavily on strong on-pitch chemistry, and laying that foundation during training is essential.

In Amorim’s system, the flanks play a crucial role. Each side sees a wide centre-back, a wingback, and a number 10 linking up regularly in possession.

With United set to face Arsenal in their Premier League opener next month, it’s likely that Yoro, Amad, and Mbeumo will occupy those right-sided roles.

Building a connection between them is vital—and encouragingly, it appears Amad and Yoro are already forming a bond with Mbeumo as they prepare for what they hope will be a successful pre-season tour.
