Bryan Mbeumo’s shirt number at Manchester United has been revealed following on from his medical and contract signing at Carrington.
After securing the early signing of Matheus Cunha, Manchester United quickly turned their attention to Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.
The Cameroon international is coming off a stellar Premier League season, having scored 20 goals. Once United expressed their interest, Mbeumo made it clear that he preferred a move to Old Trafford over rival offers from Newcastle and Tottenham.
United’s opening bids of £55 million and £62.5 million were both turned down by Brentford, resulting in extended negotiations.
However, on Friday afternoon, David Ornstein reported that the transfer saga had finally reached its conclusion. Brentford have accepted United’s latest offer of £65 million, with an additional £6 million in performance-related bonuses.
Mbeumo has since been spotted at Carrington and his United shirt number has been revealed ahead of an official announcement.
Mbeumo shirt number revealed
While United faced off against Leeds in a 0-0 pre-season friendly in Sweden, Mbeumo was conducting his medical and media duties at Old Trafford and Carrington.
On Sunday afternoon, an image emerged on social media of the 25-year-old in a suit at the club’s training ground.
It has also been revealed by SullyTalkz that Mbeumo will take the no.19 shirt at United, the same number which he has worn at Brentford.
That number has been vacant since Raphaël Varane’s departure in 2024. Amad and Marcus Rashford have also wore that number beforehand.
Meanwhile, other new signing Cunha has taken the iconic no.10 shirt and Diego Leon dons the no.30 – both appeared in their new shirts in the clash against Leeds.
When is Mbeumo’s debut?
Mbeumo is expected to be officially unveiled before Tuesday, ahead of the squad’s departure for the United States.
He’s set to make his debut on July 27 against West Ham in New Jersey—the opening match of the club’s pre-season tour—and fans will be eager to see what he adds to the side.

Cunha made an immediate impression with a standout performance in his first 45 minutes of pre-season, and Mbeumo is widely expected to have a similar impact.
Together, the duo are poised to significantly strengthen United’s attack—an area that proved to be Ruben Amorim’s biggest challenge at Old Trafford last season.
