Bryan Mbeumo sends clear Manchester United message to Amad after “really excited” admission

Bryan Mbeumo has sent a clear message to his new Manchester United teammate Amad ahead of the club’s pre-season tour.

Manchester United have completed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for £65 million, plus £6 million in bonuses — their third summer addition under Ruben Amorim.

Despite Mbeumo expressing his interest early, the deal took six weeks to finalise. The 25-year-old joins Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon at Carrington and is expected to start as United’s right forward, with Amad likely to feature as a wing-back during pre-season.

The 25-year-old has been named in United’s squad for the upcoming tour of America and he will be excited to work with his new teammates.

He will be playing in fixtures against West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton over the coming weeks as part of the Premier League’s Summer Series.

Amad really excited to work with Mbeumo

Amad is one of the players who will be affected most by Mbeumo’s arrival, with his future now looking like it will be at wingback behind the Cameroon international.

The 23-year-old is excited to start working alongside the ex-Brentford star and spoke about his arrival following United’s 0-0 draw against Leeds on the weekend.

Speaking to journalists in the mixed zone after full-time, Amad said of Mbeumo: “Of course [we’re excited]. We need good players in the team who can bring something to the final third.

“We are really excited to have them in the team and I hope all together we can give something to the fans at the end of the season because they deserve it.”

Mbeumo sends clear United message to Amad

Mbeumo himself has sent a clear message to Amad and his future teammates ahead of the tour Stateside, with the forward aiming to build relationships with his new teammates.

“It’s really important for me,” he told United’s club media team when asked about arriving in time for the beginning of the pre-season tour.

“It’s important to create links as soon as possible, automatism as well as the team-mates, in and out of the pitch.

“The spirit is really important, to create a group, so being involved as soon as possible for me is really important.”

It is clear that one of Mbeumo’s main priorities will be to build a relationship with Amad, so that the pair can work together as best as they can on that right flank.

Should they build a strong connection early on, Amad and Mbeumo could be one of the key partnerships for United and Amorim heading into next season and they both seem to be keen on making that happen.
