Bryan Mbeumo has shown the first signs of breaking his silence amidst the ongoing speculation surrounding his future, as he reacted to an online message sent by one of Manchester United’s players.
Bryan Mbeumo has made his feelings known since the start of the transfer window, and yet Brentford are currently deciding against allowing the player to leave the club. Manchester United are in negotiations with the Bees, but a breakthrough is still far in the distance.
Mbeumo scored 20 Premier League goals last season, and due to that, his club believes he is worth around £70 million this summer. United believe he is closer to £65m than that, which has led to the current impasse in the deal.
The player is returning to England to take part in Brentford’s pre-season training, but it’s currently not known how he will react within training if this saga continues to wind on.
His national team coach at Cameroon has made clear the player feels frustrated by the negotiations, and he has now liked an Instagram post from one of United’s key starting players, which could be the winger trying to send a message.
Mbeumo reacts to Yoro’s post
Mbeumo has interacted with United defender Leny Yoro’s post on Instagram, which comes after recent comments that he feels frustrated by the situation at present. Brentford have gone as far as to say Mbeumo could stay at the club, but that feels more like a negotiating tactic than anything else.
The assistant coach of Cameroon, Ashu Cyprian Besong, spoke recently about Mbeumo’s feelings during the entirety of this 38 day saga, detailing that the player is staying professional but is frustrated by the fact he is not being allowed to join the club he dreams of signing for.
“Yes, obviously he’s very frustrated with how long it’s taken. But he’s a professional and anticipates these things,” Besong told Telecom Asia.
“I spoke to him about a week ago and he is very calm with everything that is going on. But of course, he’s already told them he wants to go to United.”
“He just wanted the two clubs to find an agreement, as he’s very grateful for the opportunity that he’s been given by Brentford in his career.”
There was a feeling the clubs were getting closer last week, but Brentford’s new terms of the potential agreement changed the trajectory. The Bees are notoriously difficult to negotiate with, which has left the deal dragging on.
Brentford wrong to demand more for Mbeumo
£65 million is a very fair price for Mbeumo, and Brentford would have sold him for less had it not been United at the negotiation table. The player has been immense for two seasons, but considering Mbeumo has never played Champions League football at the highest level, £65m is more than enough.
The club risks losing more money if Mbeumo returns to pre-season next week and kicks up a fuss, which would no doubt weaken their position in negotiations. There is a feeling United are waiting until the player returns to England to go full force for the deal.

Mbeumo needs to be in soon in order to be part of Ruben Amorim’s squad to go to America, with a game against West Ham United on July 26th in the Premier League Series Cup first on their agenda.
The player has made his desires clear, and United have put more than enough money on the table to make the deal happen.
