Bryan Mbeumo names three Manchester United players he cannot wait to play with under Rúben Amorim

Bryan Mbeumo has revealed which three Manchester United players he would like to play alongside after signing for Rúben Amorim’s team.

Manchester United have announced the signing of Bryan Mbeumo, their third addition of the summer, as Rúben Amorim continues to reinforce the attacking line.

Mbeumo had made an early commitment to join United, but it took six weeks of talks with Brentford to finalise the deal, which is worth £65 million up front, plus £6 million in add-ons.

The 25-year-old arrives at Carrington after Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon, becoming the latest piece in Amorim’s rebuild.

He is expected to take over as the starting right forward, with Amad likely to begin the season at wing-back and spend pre-season adapting to the new setup.

Mbeumo names three players he wants to play with

After his signing was announced on Monday evening, United released the player’s first interview with the club, in which he mentioned three players he is looking forward to playing with.

Mbeumo has played against United on eight occasions, scoring once and assisting once, but has overall caused havoc every time he has lined up against the Reds.

“Yeah, obviously, it’s always good to play against big teams in the league,” Mbeumo admitted when asked about his battle against the club. “United is one of them, Manchester, of course.”

Furthermore, the Cameroon international explained that when considering who he is set to play with, Bruno Fernandes, Cunha, and Joshua Zirkzee all come to mind.

“And yeah, there are great players here. Bruno, now Cunha, and Zirkzee. Yeah, I think, yeah, in every line I could say a name, and I’m really happy to meet them.”

On Cunha, he expanded: “I watched him play a lot at Wolves and I know he’s a very good player. I’m sure he’s going to bring something new in the team.”

Mbuemo and Cunha both represent a turning point

The signings of Mbeumo and Cunha are two huge coups for United. Following years of gambling on buying players from Europe they hope to turn into elite talents, the club are now signing proven, Premier League players.

Beyond this, Mbeumo and Cunha have both shown a clear interest in the club that goes beyond a pure sporting decision.

Cunha has made it very clear that United is the club he grew up supporting, and when he heard Amorim was interested in the player, he jumped at the chance to sign at Old Trafford. Mbeumo is the same.

“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams; the team whose shirt I wore growing up,” the 25-year-old explained.

“My mentality is to always be better than I was yesterday. I know that I have the spirit and character to reach another level here learning from Ruben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players.

“Everybody told me about the environment that is being created here and how exciting the plans are for the future. This is a massive club, with an incredible stadium and amazing fans, we are all really determined to challenge for the biggest trophies.”
