Bryan Mbeumo breaks silence on Thomas Frank as Brentford star makes decision on Man United vs Tottenham transfer

Manchester United target Bryan Mbeumo has shared his thoughts on Thomas Frank taking the Tottenham Hotspur job, with his future seemingly being confirmed.

Bryan Mbeumo is one of the top targets at Manchester United this summer, with the Reds aiming to sign the Brentford star in the coming weeks.

It was recently reported that the Cameroon-international had communicated his desire to join United, with only the exact figures left to agree upon.

This came as welcome news to fans of the Red Devils, with the winger netting 20 goals and getting seven assists in last season’s campaign in the Premier League.

However, there began to be some nerves when it was announced that Thomas Frank was joining Tottenham Hotspur, who had reportedly reignited their interest in him.

Mbeumo breaks silence on Frank to Spurs

Despite Frank taking the job at Spurs, many outlets have reported that his desire remains an Old Trafford move, although he has wished his former manager well in his new journey.

“He’s done so, so much for me, he literally trusted me from the start,” Mbeumo told Sky Sports while at the F1 in Canada on Sunday evening.

“He developed the team so well, and he developed me as well as a human, and as a player as well. I can only wish him all the best and I’m sure he will do well.

“He knows everything, he is really smart, he knows what he wants to bring the team and how he wants to play, so yeah, he’s been fantastic for Brentford.

“I think he’s going to have some time to adapt obviously, now its going to change for him, UCL games, more expectations, yeah but I’m sure he’s going to do well.”

Mbeumo still looks set for United

While the Brentford man was full of praise for his ex-boss, it does look as if the only place he is heading this summer is United, with a stream of reports coming in over the last week seemingly-confirming this.

According to one Sky Sports report, United have had a bid of £55 million rejected as the club value him in excess of £60 million.

That being said, it is just the money that needs to be worked out, with the player himself said to be very keen on a move, as well as being seen as a ‘good fit’ in Ruben Amorim’s system.

Brentford have also reportedly decided that the 25-year-old has ‘has earned the chance to move to a bigger club this summer’.

The transfer is expected to be concluded shortly after the transfer window re-opens on Monday the 16th of June, after the Club World Cup.
