Bruno Fernandes sends clear three-word message to Man Utd after ‘certain to stay’ reports and win vs Everton

Bruno Fernandes has sent a clear three-word message to Manchester United following the club’s 1-0 Premier League win over Everton on Monday evening.

Michael Carrick’s side claimed a vital three points as a loan goal from Benjamin Šeško sealed a 1-0 win for Manchester United against Everton on Monday night.

Both teams created early chances, but persistent drizzle made for a scrappy, slippery contest, and neither found a breakthrough before half-time.

United began the second half strongly, with Šeško introduced in place of Amad, and he proved decisive, striking with 20 minutes remaining to hand the visitors the lead.

Everton pushed hard for an equaliser, but Senne Lammens produced a string of excellent saves to preserve the advantage. Carrick’s men held firm at the Hill Dickinson Stadium to move fourth in the table.

Fernandes ‘certain to stay’ if Champions League is secured

The main aim for United between now and the end of the season is to finish in the Champions League spaces. Currently, this is the top four Premier League spots, but due to English dominance in Europe, it will likely become the top five clubs.

Club captain Bruno Fernandes‘ future is very much in question amid a strong push from the Saudi Pro League last summer, and it took major convincing from former manager Rúben Amorim and Fernandes’ wife to secure his services for another season at Old Trafford.

Despite his future being far from settled, GiveMeSport have reported that, while United are expecting to fend off further interest from Saudi sides in the summer, sources close to the player claim he is ‘certain’ to stay at Old Trafford if they qualify for the Champions League.

According to the report, the 31-year-old is as ‘upbeat and positive’ as he has been at the club for some time, due to the strong bond he has formed with Carrick since the latter’s return as head coach.

Fernandes clearly believes in the project

Despite the questions around his future, Fernandes is still producing on the pitch, having contributed four assists and one goal in the six matches he’s played under Carrick this season.

After the win over Everton on Monday evening, Fernandes also took to social media to show his clear and continued support for United’s project, posting photos of him defending as well as a smile after full-time with the caption “brick by brick.”

United cannot afford to lose Fernandes this summer. As well as being the player with the most goal contributions this season, with 19 to his name, he’s also the bona fide leader in the dressing room.

With the club losing Casemiro this summer, that’s a lot of high-level experience exiting the building, and if Fernandes were to leave too, it would have a catastrophic effect on the dressing room.
