Bruno Fernandes has revealed why he has been getting upset with one of his Manchester United teammates in training and it’s a good sign.
Manchester United will be eager to maintain their momentum following an impressive victory over Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.
With upcoming fixtures against Brighton and Nottingham Forest, the Reds will aim to collect more points and continue their climb up the Premier League table.
A number of players are beginning to hit form, with all four of the club’s summer additions producing promising displays in recent matches.
Out of those new additions, the most impressive player has been Bryan Mbeumo, who joined the club from Brentford in the summer.
Fernandes reveals why he ‘gets upset’ with United teammate in training
Mbeumo scored 20 goals in the Premier League last term and his early form at Old Trafford shows exactly why he can score so many in England’s top flight.
The Cameroonian forward provides relentless intensity in and out of possession and has an amazing first touch. He has scored three goals for United so far, including one at Anfield.
But, like many others in the squad, he still has levels to improve and club captain Bruno Fernandes has explained how he wants Mbeumo to get his shots away earlier in training.
He told reporters: “Sometimes I get upset with him [Mbeumo] in training because he’s like, one touch more, one touch more and everything. I say, ‘Bryan, you don’t need that.
“You can one touch and shoot because you’re more than able to do that. You did that against us when you were at Brentford! You just have to make it for us now. The shirts have changed, but you’re the same player so we need that from you.”
Fernandes pushing teammates behind the scenes
It is clear that Fernandes has high expectations for his new teammate and that is perfect for the Reds. We all know there is more to come from Mbeumo and others in the team.
The good thing is that the ex-Brentford star’s current level is still very impressive even though it is clear he can improve going forward.

Fernandes’ role as captain at United is often questioned within the media but this is another example which speaks volumes about him as a character. He wants to see the best of his teammates.
That might not always come across on the pitch where he is acting passionately, but behind the scenes, the Portuguese midfielder seems to be constantly helping his teammates and driving them forward.
