Bruno Fernandes names “magic” Man Utd Academy star who can “score some goals” in pre-season

Bruno Fernandes has named a “magic” Manchester United Academy star he hopes will score goals across pre-season under Rúben Amorim.

Manchester United are kicking off the US leg of their pre-season tour, with Rúben Amorim continuing his preparations for his first full campaign as head coach.

Their first friendly ended in a goalless draw against Leeds United in Stockholm, but there were bright performances from Leny Yoro, Kobbie Mainoo, and new signing Matheus Cunha.

Next up is a meeting with Graham Potter’s West Ham in New Jersey, part of the Premier League Summer Series, which also includes Everton and Bournemouth.

United will be based in Chicago for the 10-day tour, where they’ll face the other three teams before returning to Old Trafford to host David de Gea’s Fiorentina a week before the season gets underway.

Fernandes hoping for “magic” from Fletcher

Bruno Fernandes is not only United’s most consistent player, but is also one who takes the time to help the club’s young stars settle into first-team action.

With the club flying to the United States on Tuesday afternoon, Fernandes was given a camera to interview some of his teammates, including Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Amad, and others.

Another whom Fernandes chose to focus on was young star Jack Fletcher, who has been excelling in the Academy.

Speaking with the phone in his hand, Fernandes said to Fletcher, “We go here for the next generation of Fletch! Let’s enjoy it, let’s score some goals also, fans want to see goals from that left foot, you have to show them. We are expecting magic from there.”

Fletcher set to stay at United this season

With United not playing European football next season, there are fewer young players who will be handed chances in the coming campaign.

As per fresh reports, Harry Amass, Jack Moorhouse, Ethan Wheatley, Ethan Williams, and Radek Vitek are all being lined up for loan moves next season, but Fletcher is set to stay.

Reports from earlier this year stated that Amorim very much appreciates the young midfielder, and his presence as part of the club’s 33-man squad says a lot about his potential.

With United strapped for cash and Amorim looking for reinforcements in midfield, Fletcher has a fantastic chance to establish himself as part of the first-team squad across the next few weeks.
