Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire have both been full of praise for one ‘world class’ teammate after their recent form for Manchester United.
Manchester United have had a very difficult campaign but still have the chance to end the season on a high note by winning the Europa League.
The Reds will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Bilbao-based final later this month, with qualification in the Champions League next season up for grabs.
Despite their poor form in the Premier League, Ruben Amorim’s men remain unbeaten in Europe this season and have showcased some good performances.
The beginning of the second-leg against Athletic Club in the semi-final had issues but the second-half display was excellent and saw Amorim’s side score four goals.
But it was Leny Yoro in defence who was one of the standouts for United once again as the teenager continues to go from strength to strength this season.
Fernandes and Maguire deliver ‘world class’ praise for Yoro
It is always difficult for a young player to move to England and immediately settle in, especially when you’ve signed for an underperforming United side.
However, Yoro has surprisingly made it look easy. Despite suffering an injury setback earlier in the season, the French defender has been one of United’s best players in recent months.
He was involved in two of the goals against Athletic Club and is shining in the wide centre-back role in Amorim’s back three due to his ability to carry the ball up the pitch.
Yoro earned huge praise from Harry Maguire last month as the English defender named him as the best player over the two-legged quarter-final against Lyon.
“I think Leny was brilliant again,” Maguire said. “Over the two ties I’d say he’s been our best player, so congratulations to Leny.”
Now, after United’s progression to the final of the Europa League, Yoro has also received big praise from club captain Bruno Fernandes.
Yoro posted on Instagram after the game, saying: “One step closer to history. Fully locked in on our goal,” and Fernandes wrote in the comments, “World class,” with a clapping emoji.

Yoro already an important player for United
Fernandes and Maguire have both issued big praise for the 19-year-old but the way in which he has settled in at Old Trafford is outstanding considering the circumstances.
It is possibly the most difficult environment for a young player to come into, as shown by various failed signings in the past, but Yoro looks like he’s enjoying the pressure.
The attributes which he possesses means that he will only improve as a defender and become a key part of the United team going forward.
In fact, some will argue that he is already important for the team and a must-starter in the Europa League final later this month.
