One Manchester United target has addressed the links to Ruben Amorim’s team and believes that he has “earned” these rumours with his performances.
Manchester United are now focusing on their final three transfer targets of the summer as Ruben Amorim continues preparations for his first full season at Old Trafford.
The club have already secured the signings of Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon, and Bryan Mbeumo, with Cunha and Mbeumo forming part of a revamped front line. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Leon is expected to serve as backup to Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu at left wing-back.
In the remaining five weeks of the window, United are prioritising moves for an experienced striker, a defensive midfielder, and a goalkeeper capable of providing serious competition for André Onana.
However, the club will likely need to generate funds through player sales—potentially including key figures like Alejandro Garnacho—before they can proceed with further additions.
United target believes he’s earned Old Trafford links
One of the goalkeeping options being considered at United is Royal Antwerp shot-stopper Senne Lammens and he will have a better chance of the move after United’s loan offer for Emi Martínez was rejected.
Lammens has been asked about the interest in him from United in the last few days and he labelled them as ‘one of the best clubs’ around.
The ‘brilliant’ goalkeeper has refused to rule out the possible move, and also explained how he thinks he’s earned the links to Old Trafford.
“Manchester United are one of the best clubs, yes. But you never know. It could also be a different club, or who knows, I might stay here,” he said, as per Sport Witness. “In any case, I try to keep my feet on the ground. When teams like that come along, I think you’ve earned it.”
Lammens has researched United
The interest in Lammens has been long-standing at Old Trafford and the player himself has addressed these links beforehand too.
Speaking earlier this year, the goalkeeper admitted that he has conducted research into United to see whether he would fit into the team well.
“The first time I heard it, I thought: wow, immediately a world team that follows you. That is special. Of course, I was also asked about it a lot, and when I made a save in training,” he told Belgian media back in February.
“Those top clubs have so many scouts and follow so many players. So it doesn’t have to mean anything yet. It will only become clear in the summer whether anything will come of it. But of course, it is only positive.

“Especially because it is about the best competition in the world and my profile – my stature and way of playing – is suitable for English football. You have to physically hold your own there, and that suits me.
“I do follow the teams that follow you a bit. But it’s not like I’m watching full matches. Summaries are enough.”
