Marcus Rashford, Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw, and Fred’s current contracts had them set to expire in June 2023.

However, each of them had a clause in their contracts that allows the club to extend them for a further year should Manchester United decide to.

With reports surfacing a few days ago that their contracts had been extended, Erik ten Hag has now confirmed in a club interview that all four players have has their contracts extended.

“Yes, I can confirm it,” he told club broadcaster Zarah Connolly.

“We are happy because the squad is going in the right direction, and those players (have) a massive contribution in that direction.”

Marcus Rashford has been a star man of Erik ten Hag’s maiden campaign as manager of the Red Devils, being the current top scorer, with nine goals to his name so far.

Most recently, Rashford netted a stunning solo effort against Burnley in the EFL Cup.

Shaw, Dalot, and Fred have featured heavily in Erik ten Hag’s XIs so far this season, and with each player’s contract running out soon, they would have been able to negotiate free contracts with other clubs from January if their deals had not been extended.

“We want to develop, we want to support those players and we want them to keep in our process,” he added.

“We want to construct a team for the future, so for longer years, and those players have to be part of it.”

It is likely that over the course of the next year, each of these players will be offered new long-term deals to tie them down for a longer period.

Manchester United will next face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League as Ten Hag looks to get his club into the Champions League spots.
