An update on Benjamin Šeško has been issued after Rúben Amorim confirmed the Manchester United striker had suffered from food poisoning.
Manchester United will look to bring greater stability to their form when they host Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Monday evening.
Rúben Amorim oversaw one of the most eye-catching results of his time at the club in the previous match, as Bruno Fernandes scored twice alongside goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount in a 4-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. Another game without a clean sheet, however, slightly dulled the impact of the win.
Although United have been beaten just once in their last nine league fixtures, only two wins from their last six have kept debate alive over the true strength of their recent performances.
Bournemouth arrive having endured a difficult spell of four defeats and two draws in their last six Premier League matches. Despite that, the Cherries have enjoyed notable success at Old Trafford in recent seasons, recording consecutive 3-0 victories on their last two visits.
Šeško trying everything to be fit vs Bournemouth
Benjamin Šeško has not played a minute for United since 8 November, when he had to come off due to a knee injury sustained during a 2-2 draw against Tottenham.
There were then rumours that he may be able to be involved against Bournemouth. Still, the United boss confirmed on Friday afternoon that he had been hit with a bout of food poisoning, which threw his availability into doubt.
However, according to SullyTalkz on X, Šeško had been involved in first-team training activities with the rest of the squad on Sunday, indicating he may be able to make the bench.
Further, it was added that Šeško has been doing everything he can to make himself available and included in the squad.
United without a further two vs Bournemouth
At the same time, Amorim confirmed on Friday afternoon that centre-backs Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt continue to be unavailable, with the former sustaining a hamstring injury last month.

On De Ligt, the manager said: “I think he has something in his back, I don’t know for sure. Sometimes you see it’s not a big injury because he finished the game quite well against Crystal Palace, but he has some pain.
“You sometimes think it will be solved during this week, but sometimes he feels a little bit of pain, and we have to be a little careful with that.”
Ayden Heaven has covered at central centre-back across the last two games against West Ham and Wolves and played well, and is expected to remain in the position against Bournemouth on Monday evening.
