Ayden Heaven has broken his silence on his recovery from his Manchester United injury after an admission that he has “surprised” one of his teammates.

Manchester United secured their most impressive Premier League victory in months last weekend, as Rúben Amorim’s side comfortably dispatched Leicester City 3-0 on a crisp Sunday evening in the Midlands.

Goals from Rasmus Højlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Bruno Fernandes wrapped up the win, providing a timely boost of confidence for the club heading into the March international break.

The match also brought further positives, with Harry Amass making his senior debut on his 18th birthday and another strong display from teenage centre-back Ayden Heaven.

However, after an outstanding first half, Heaven suffered an apparent ankle injury and had to be stretchered off, a moment that left United’s travelling supporters and fans worldwide deeply concerned.

Heaven breaks silence on injury recovery

When the 18-year-old went down, he immediately signaled for medical attention, raising concerns among teammates and fans alike. As he was stretchered off, many feared the worst for the young defender.

However, initial assessments from injury experts suggest that unless he has sustained a lower leg fracture, he could be back in action within a matter of weeks.

Heaven has now broken his silence on his injury and recovery, stating that he is “doing really well” and “recovering fast” following his initial scare.

“Thank you guys for all the support!!” Heaven wrote on Instagram. “Have read all your messages, and I’m doing really well and recovering fast.”

Heaven impressing his United teammates

Heaven’s recent rise at United has impressed many United fans following his two starts for the club and his fantastic 45 minutes against Arsenal two weeks ago.

He has also caught the eye of teammate Manuel Ugarte, who admitted a few days ago that he is “surprised” by the player’s strength and personality.

“He’s a very strong guy,” Ugarte said of Heaven. “This surprised me about him, the personality he has. He’s played very well in the last few games. Let’s hope he isn’t too bad and that he recovers well and is ready for what’s to come.”

Amorim was also keen to wax lyrical of the central defender last week, stating: “If he continues like that he is going to play.

“Of course he is young and he didn’t play much this season, maybe only 45 minutes for the Under-21s, then a few minutes here and now a full game. I really like his confidence. I like his pace, I think he is good in defending the box and I think he is quite complete.

“But he has a lot of work to do in the Premier League. We will face a different kind of player and he will be tested in a different kind of way, so we are trying to manage all of this because he is still really young.”
