Arsenal have been told they may have a chance to sign Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford on loan for the rest of the Premier League season.

Marcus Rashford is poised to leave Manchester United in 2025 after a revealing interview confirmed the 27-year-old’s desire for a fresh challenge.

Once United’s attacking talisman, Rashford delivered a sensational 30-goal season under Erik ten Hag in 2022/23. However, his influence has since waned, and under Rúben Amorim, he has fallen down the pecking order. Amad and Bruno Fernandes have solidified their places in the side, while Rashford has not featured in United’s last eight matches.

Rashford’s connection to the club runs deep, spanning nearly 20 years. His rise began with an unforgettable debut as an 18-year-old, scoring twice against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League and repeating the feat days later against Arsenal in the Premier League.

Reports suggest Manchester United are willing to loan Rashford out in January, with a permanent transfer likely to follow in the summer. His departure seems inevitable, marking the end of a remarkable Old Trafford chapter as he prepares to embark on the next stage of his career.

Arsenal told they have a chance to land Rashford

Rashford has been closely linked with a host of European clubs in the last three weeks, with AC Milan, Barcelona, and Borussia Dortmund having been credited with interest.

However, another club who have been urged to test their luck is Arsenal, who Joe Cole believes have a chance at landing the shock transfer on a short-term loan deal as United would not see the London club as rivals for the rest of this season.

On the suggestion that United wouldn’t let Rashford go to the Emirates, Cole told Al Arabiya News: “If the money is right, I think they [United] would.

“Because I don’t think Manchester United see themselves this season, for a loan deal, competing with Arsenal. I don’t know, maybe Manchester United fans might tell me different.”

Continuing, the former Premier League defender said: “He’s a left forward. He’s never looked comfortable, for me, centrally.

“I think the secret for Marcus is everyone around him, what he comes with, getting them all on side and saying, ‘Listen, let’s try and make this thing happen!’, I’d love to see it.”

United pushing for Rashford to head on loan

While it has been known for well over a month that Rashford does not see himself continuing long-term under Amorim, he has not yet secured a move away.

According to The Telegraph, United are going to step up their efforts to find the 27-year-old a new club for the remainder of the season.

The report states that sources in Germany say Bundesliga club Dortmund are hopeful that they will be able to secure a deal, with other reports suggesting they want Rashford’s transfer finalised by Thursday.

Ligue 1 side AS Monaco have been touted as a significant rival to Dortmund this week, and AC Milan have pretty much given up on their pursuit as they have focused on signing Kyle Walker from Manchester City this week and only have space for one English player in their current squad.
