Arne Slot has confirmed that Liveprool have received two injury boosts as they prepare to host Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
With the October 2025 international break now finished, Manchester United turn their attention back to the Premier League with a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool.
Rúben Amorim’s men sit 10th in the table after three wins from their opening seven matches, but there’s a quiet belief in the camp ahead of this one, boosted by Liverpool’s recent struggles under Arne Slot.
Having started the season with five straight league victories, Liverpool have since suffered three consecutive defeats in all competitions — against Crystal Palace, Galatasaray, and Chelsea. Late goals proved costly in both domestic losses, while their visit to Istanbul ended in a narrow 1-0 setback.
United head into the game on the back of a confident 2-0 win over Sunderland, and Amorim will be hoping that a positive result at Anfield can help his side find momentum and climb the table.
Slot confirms Liverpool have a double boost vs United
Earlier this week, there were fears in Merseyside that Slot would have several significant injuries to contend with ahead of the weekend, with the fitness of up to five players in question.
However, speaking on Friday morning, the Dutchman has confirmed that two of these concerns, Ryan Gravenberch and Ibrahima Konaté, are expected to train and be able to play.
“Ryan is completely fit, still has to train, but fit, we are in a good place with the Dutch side,” Slot told the media. “Ibou [Konate] has come to back to us and is expected to train today.”
However, the manager also confirmed that their “ridiculous” goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, remains injured. “Alisson is not training, so he is out. How long out? Difficult to say as the end phase of rehab always gives you positives and negatives, but not the weekend or next week.”
United must start the game strong
Both Liverpool and United’s last few results have been turbulent, and although Anfield will no doubt be full of support for the Merseyside Reds, United must look to get at Liverpool from very early in the tie.

If Amorim’s men can frustrate and slice through Liverpool’s defensive line early on, even if it’s just warning shots, it will unsettle the crowd in Liverpool and give their opponents something serious to think about.
Liverpool’s attacking prowess is evident, and there is little doubt that Senne Lammens will have a lot to do in goal to help his side maintain focus and handle pressure, but their defensive frailties are clear to see, and could be exploited.
It may be the type of game where Amorim chooses to start Mason Mount and leave Matheus Cunha on the bench, with the idea that the Brazilian can come on in the second half against tired legs and cause havoc.
