“What a footballer…” Manchester United loanee receives “pure gold” praise for 9/10 performance
One Manchester United loanee has been gifted a 9/10 performance rating after a “pure gold” performance during his club’s recent comeback victory.
Manchester United’s 2025 winter transfer window has been met with widespread criticism from fans after the club failed to strengthen key areas of Rúben Amorim’s squad.
United reinforced their defence with the signings of Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven, but the lack of attacking reinforcements has left supporters frustrated.
At the same time, three first-team forwards—Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Ethan Wheatley—departed on loan, along with several Academy players seeking more game time elsewhere.
One positive is the arrival of promising left-back Diego Leon, who will officially join United on 1 July after finishing the season with Cerro Porteño in Paraguay.
Antony praised for “pure gold” performance
On Sunday, Real Betis produced a massive second-half performance in the race for Champions League spots, coming back from 2-0 down to defeat Leganes 3-2.
Betis are currently sixth in La Liga and eight points behind the Champions League spots, so winning against Leganes after beig 2-0 down inside 45 minutes was a huge achievement.
Despite not scoring, Antony was handed a 9/10 ratings from Betis Web, who were in awe of the Brazilian’s performance.
“What a footballer,” Betis Web described. “He has a repertoire of top-class moves, is completely unpredictable, and opponents tremble when they see him.
“His runs into space are pure gold. Perhaps the one who most believed in a comeback, his attitude rubbed off on the rest.”
Betis want to sign Antony again this summer
According to a recent report, Betis are keen to keep Antony beyond this summer and will engage in conversations with United about the possibility of a move.

However, the report claims that the Seville-based outfit are keen to see Antony join only on loan for the 2025/26 season, but with Betis taking on a higher percentage of his £200,000 a week wage.
According to various reports Betis currently contribute to around 84% of his package, but Champions League qualification may be essential to cover more.
United are focusing on a full sale for Antony this summer to raise funds for Amorim’s rebuild, but there may be a scenario where United would be happy to loan Antony to Betis if the move includes an obligation to buy the player in 2026.
