Another Premier League club has rejected the chance to sign Jadon Sancho as Chelsea have decided against buying the Manchester United loanee.
Manchester United loaned Jadon Sancho to Chelsea at the start of last season, with the Stamford Bridge side initially agreeing to a £25 million obligation to buy the winger.
Sancho had fallen out of favour with Erik ten Hag after publicly accusing the United manager of scapegoating him. Following the dispute, Ten Hag excluded Sancho from his plans, only featuring him in pre-season matches before his switch to Chelsea.
Earlier this year, reports surfaced indicating that Chelsea could withdraw from the permanent transfer agreement by paying United a £5 million penalty fee.
David Ornstein has now confirmed that Sancho will not be joining Chelsea permanently after both parties failed to agree on personal terms as the player would not lower his wage demands in line with their structure.
Premier League club rejected chance to sign Sancho
It has been reported that Sancho is already considering his options, both in the Premier League and abroad, with a return to Old Trafford extremely unlikely.
Claret and Hugh, a reliable outlet for West Ham news, has now revealed that the Hammers were offered the chance to sign Sancho in what was described as an ‘affordable’ deal.
They claim that Sancho was open to the move should his Chelsea future fall apart – which it now has – but Graham Potter decided against pursuing any deal for the 25-year-old.
While the conversations reached the top level of West Ham’s board, it is explained that talks were only preliminary and Potter quickly rejected the potential deal as he is looking for a different type of player.
Sancho’s wage demands leave few realistic destinations
Even if those at West Ham wanted to sign Sancho, it seems like they would’ve had trouble convincing him to drop his wage demands.
This is what makes his Chelsea departure confusing. If the Blues are not going to reach his wage demands, who does he think will?

It was the same story last summer when Borussia Dortmund opted out of signing him and many clubs will be unable to reach his demands, which are rumoured to still be over £200,000-per-week.
There have been no serious reports about Saudi Pro League clubs being interested in him now, but that seems like the only destination where his desired wage would be met.
