Amad, Yoro, Heaven: When Manchester United’s injured stars will return as international break underway

Manchester United secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Leicester City in their final match before the upcoming two-week international break.
Bruno Fernandes was the standout performer for United, contributing a goal and two assists, while Matthijs de Ligt delivered a solid display in the heart of the defence.
As the international break begins, the atmosphere at Old Trafford is somewhat different, with many players remaining at the club due to a lack of national team call-ups.
While this reflects the current state of the squad, it may also serve as a positive for Ruben Amorim, who acknowledged that his players were feeling “tired” following the latest fixture.
There are several Reds currently out of action with injuries and UtdDistrict have noted their potential return timelines below.
Altay Bayindir
Injury: Unknown
Amorim has not issued any update on Altay Bayındır since the 2-2 draw against Everton last month, where he said the shot-stopper was “making a recovery”.
Potential return date: Unknown
Tom Heaton
Injury: Unknown
Tom Heaton, like his fellow goalkeeper, has had minimal updates regarding his fitness levels. “Tom is making a recovery. Again, I don’t have a day, but they [Heaton and Bayindir] are recovering,” Amorim said last month.
Potential return date: Unknown
Harry Maguire
Injury: Unknown
Harry Maguire suffered an injury in the FA Cup defeat against Fulham and has missed the four games since. Amorim suggested that he might have been available to face The Foxes but he was not quiet ready for that clash. He is expected to be available for selection when club football returns.
Possible return date: April 1 (Nottingham Forest A)
Leny Yoro
Injury: Foot
It was another defensive injury for United when Leny Yoro suffered a foot injury against Arsenal earlier this month. Fortunately, Amorim confirmed he’d only miss the games before the international break.
“No, no [Yoro’s absence] is not long-term,” he told reporters. “Leny cannot play this game (vs Sociedad) and the other game (vs Leicester).”
Possible return date: April 1 (Nottingham Forest A)
Lisandro Martinez
Injury: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)
Lisandro Martínez suffered a horrible injury at the beginning of February and will not be available for United again this season. The return timeframe for an ACL injury can vary and United have not confirmed anything yet.
Potential return date: August
Ayden Heaven
Injury: Ankle
Ayden Heaven suffered an unfortunate injury against Leicester City after his impressive start to life at Old Trafford. There have currently been no official updates on his condition.
“It’s hard to understand because when he was on the ground he could not speak,” Amorim told reporters. “He’s so young, its hard to understand what he’s feeling. We’ll see next week.”
Potential return date: Unknown
Jonny Evans
Injury: Muscular
Jonny Evans has not appeared for United in 2025 and his last appearance came against Spurs in the Carabao Cup in mid-December. He was spotted in the Old Trafford stands alongside Maguire for the game against Arsenal earlier this month.
Potential return date: Unknown
Luke Shaw
Injury: Muscular
In his latest press conference, Amorim suggested that Luke Shaw would “be back soon” after suffering a recent setback in his recovery. Fans are never convinced with updates about the defender, however.
Potential return date: Unknown
Kobbie Mainoo
Injury: Unknown
Kobbie Mainoo suffered an injury at the beginning of February and it was claimed that he would be out of action for around six weeks.
Possible return date: April 1 (Nottingham Forest A)
Amad
Injury: Ankle
Amad suffered an ankle injury in training last month and it was claimed that the 22-year-old would be unavailable for the rest of the season.
However, earlier this month, Amorim suggested that the Ivorian may be able to return earlier than expected, potentially in the final month of the season. “Even Amad, we will see in the end of the last month,” he said. “I don’t want to say anything but I have the hope to have Amad before the end of the season.”
Potential return date: May
