Amad Diallo’s new wages revealed as Manchester United contract ‘near’ completion
Amad Diallo is expected to be awarded with a new contract at Manchester United after his stellar form this season.
During a dim campaign with few positives so far, Amad Diallo has managed to stand out for an underperforming Manchester United side.
The Ivorian broke into the team at the back-end of last season under Erik ten Hag and continued that positive development this term as he won United’s Player of the Month for August.
However, he was quickly taken out of the team afterwards and did not start regularly until Ruben Amorim took charge in November.
Since then, Amad has played in all 11 matches under the Portuguese boss and stood out amongst his teammates. He has started eight of those games, registering seven direct goal contributions.
He has impressed at right wingback and in the duel number 10 roles, and most recently received the club’s December Player of the Month.
This form, alongside the high potential the 22-year-old has, is about to earn him a new contract as his existing deal expires at the end of the season.
While the Reds have the option to extend his current terms for another 12 months, they are instead opting to reward Amad with a new and improved deal. Amorim has confirmed that an agreement is ‘near’.
Amad’s wages revealed in new United contract
Various reports have claimed that Amad is currently earning just under £30,000-a-week on his current deal, which is the contract he signed in 2021 when he joined the club.
The Sun have recently claimed that the 22-year-old’s new contract will bolster his wage packet by over triple his current payments.
It was reported that Amad’s new wages will be around £90,000-a-week, which will be considered realistic earnings for a player of his importance at Old Trafford.
The aforementioned report also added that it is expected that Amad’s new terms place him on a five-year contract at Old Trafford, keeping him at the club until June 2030. It is likely that another additional year clause is included as well.
Amad has long-term ambitions at United
It would be quite easy for a talented young player like Amad to have his head turned by interest as he enters the final six months of his contract.
European clubs have been able to speak to the player since the New Year to discuss a potential free contract at the end of the season. Interest would undoubtably be there.
However, Amad is set to sign new terms at Old Trafford and be tasked with being part of a team to turn the club’s fortunes around under Amorim.
He is not an Academy graduate, nor has he been a first-team regular for a long time, but still feels that he has achievements to make at the club he loves.

“I’m happy to be here,” Amad said in November. “I’m happy to play for this club, and yeah, I want to stay here for a long, long, long time to make history with this club.”
