Amad Diallo snubbed as Manchester United starlet ‘set for first start’ vs Fulham

| Last Updated:

Amad is set to be snubbed for a start against Fulham as Erik ten Hag is set to play Omari Forson against Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United will be without Rasmus Højlund as Erik ten Hag prepares his side to face Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, with the club confirming that the striker has a muscle problem.

Højlund will be out for two or three weeks as he recovers, meaning Ten Hag will be without the player for at least Fulham (H), Nottingham Forest (A, FA Cup), and Manchester City (A).

“We saw players who didn’t have the chance in the first half of the season, or they were injured,” Ten Hag explained in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

“And now, they will get opportunities, and now it’s about them to be confident.”

In light of this, Ten Hag is set to hand Omari Forson his first Premier League start against Fulham tomorrow, according to X account AcademyScoop.

The Dutch manager rates Forson very highly, and the preference for him to start over Amad is based on skillset and potential and not training performance or effort related.

Forson grabbed his first goal involvement for the club against Wolves last month, assisting Kobbie Mainoo for his brilliant winning goal in the dying moments at the Molineux.

With the side having won four Premier League fixtures in a row, Ten Hag will be looking to continue the club’s good momentum despite Højlund’s absence.
