Manchester United have confirmed that Benjamin Šeško will wear the No. 30 kit ahead of his debut campaign under Rúben Amorim.
Manchester United have completed four signings this summer, with Rúben Amorim intent on strengthening the backbone of his Old Trafford squad.
The window opened with the capture of Matheus Cunha, announced on day one and finalised two weeks later. Bryan Mbeumo was next to emerge as a target, making his interest clear in early June, though a deal with Brentford took six weeks to secure.
In the meantime, 18-year-old left-back Diego Leon joined the club and quickly impressed at Carrington, earning a spot on the fringes of the first team.
The standout addition came in the form of Benjamin Šeško from RB Leipzig, taking total summer spending to roughly £214 million. Recruitment is set to continue, with a midfielder and a goalkeeper still on the agenda.
Confirmed kit numbers for new players
While new signings are always an exciting afair, one part of fresh transfers that fans love is learning which numbers their new players will wear for their debut campaigns.
Amid Marcus Rashford’s exit, Cunha has been handed the club’s historic No. 10 shirt. At the same time, fellow winger Mbeumo has secured another one of Rashford’s old numbers, the No. 19. The Cameroon international also held that number at Brentford.
Šeško, who was announced as the club’s new striker last week, is the new No. 30. The Slovenian has held the number at both Red Bull Salzburg and Red Bull Leipzig across his last five seasons of professional football.
While Leon was initially handed the No. 30 kit to accommodate Šeško’s arrival, the young left-back will now wear the No. 35 shirt for the coming season.
United confirm six shirt number changes
Beyond the new signings, five of Amorim’s current squad have also been handed new numbers as the side prepares for the 2025/26 season.
Promising forward Shea Lacey has switched from No. 72 to No. 61. At the same time, defender Reece Munro moves from No. 79 to No. 65. Winger Bendito Mantato, who recently signed a four-year professional contract, has been promoted from No. 80 to No. 75.
18-year-old striker Chido Obi has gone from the No. 56 to the No. 32 shirt, and centre-back Tyler Fredricsion has been moved from No. 55 to No. 33 following his debut last season.
First-team right-back Diogo Dalot has moved from the No. 20 kit to the No. 2 shirt after Victor Lindelöf’s departure at the end of June.
