Alejandro Garnacho was previously labelled as an untouchable at Manchester United but that may no longer be the case.

During the summer window, it was heavily reported that Alejandro Garnacho was among a small group of players that United would not consider offers for.

However, recent reports emerging have suggested that this is no longer the case, and that United are now willing to consider any substantial bids for almost all of their players.

That includes the likes of Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, which has seemingly led clubs to eye these players as potential targets.

Mainoo is reportedly being tracked by Chelsea, although any offers for United’s academy stars would have to be really attractive.

Meanwhile, it has been reported by talkSPORT that Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid are keeping tabs on Garnacho at the moment.

It was reiterated by the outlet that United would consider a sale of the Argentine if a big-money offer came in.

Garnacho initially joined the club from Atleti in the summer of 2022, he spent five years in their academy setup beforehand.

This all follows on from reports last month which claimed Diego Simeone’s men were on ‘red alert’ to Garnacho’s situation at Old Trafford.

What is Garnacho’s current transfer value?

With speculation around Garnacho’s future, as United look for ways to solve their financial issues, it is interesting to know how much the 20-year-old is currently valued at.

Several different factors are considered when determining a player’s transfer value. The CIES Football Observatory have developed “a statistical model to assess the transfer value of professional football players on a scientific basis.”

Using factors such as age, contract length, previous transfer fees, actual values of other transfers, CIES’ latest report, on the 1 January 2025, estimate that Garnacho is worth £97.4 million.

The Argentine currently has another three-and-a-half years on his contract at United, which would be a significant factor in this price.

However, reports elsewhere have suggested that the Reds would consider offers in the range of around £70 million. Any sale of the winger would represent ‘pure profit’ on the club’s financial accounts.
