Alejandro Garnacho’s stance on leaving Manchester United revaeled as Rúben Amorim makes Matheus Cunha admission

Alejandro Garnacho’s stance on leaving Manchester United this summer has been revealed amid the club’s reported admission surrounding Matheus Cunha.

Manchester United are reportedly edging closer to securing a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha this summer as they seek to bolster Rúben Amorim’s attacking options.

This season, the club has struggled with consistent goal-scoring, with much of the responsibility falling on captain Bruno Fernandes, particularly after Amad was sidelined for the past two months due to injury.

Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Højlund have only managed 18 goals between them this season, and only five players have recorded more than ten goal involvements, with Marcus Rashford, who is set to be sold this summer, being one of them.

With this in mind, Amorim is looking to strengthen his squad with players who fit his 3-4-3 formation, and Cunha is seen as a perfect fit for the left attacking role.

United make Cunha admission

With United looking to sign Cunha to increase the attacking threat of Amorim’s side, a new report from talkSPORT has detailed an admission United have made regarding the signing.

As per their chief football correspondent Alex Crook, United and Amorim have conceded that they will have to sell players in order to sign the Brazilian this summer.

It is stated that, although Wolves are willing to accept payment in instalments rather than in one go, they are adamant that United must pay the full £62.5 million release clause in the 25-year-old’s contract.

United are said to want to make sure the deal is wrapped up as quickly as possible in order to bring Cunha in ahead of the club’s pre-season tour that sees them play fixtures in Europe as well as in the Premier League Summer Series in the USA.

What Garnacho thinks about leaving United

Amid United needing to sell players, talkSPORT further reveals that the club would be willing to sell Alejandro Garnacho this summer in order to fund the Cunha transfer.

United were open to offers for Garnacho during the January window, and there was significant interest from both Chelsea and Serie A side Napoli during that time, although a deal could not be completed.

The above report states that, with Garnacho a potential player for sale, the 20-year-old is reluctantly open to departing Old Trafford after he has struggled to find a defined role in Amorim’s first-team.

It is claimed that Garnacho’s former club, Atletico Madrid, are keen on the winger this summer.
