Al-Hilal ‘want to discuss’ three things with Bruno Fernandes as third transfer meeting expected

Al-Hilal want to discuss three main things with Bruno Fernandes during a third transfer meeting as they try to convince the Manchester United captain of moving to the Saudi Pro League.

Speculation about Al-Hilal’s interest in Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has surged in recent days as they look for a major signing early in the summer window.

On Monday afternoon, reports from Saudi Arabia claimed that officials from the club had held talks with Fernandes’ lawyer, Caetano Maria, and agent, Miguel Robin, to explore a potential transfer.

Al-Hilal are reportedly aiming to make a high-profile signing ahead of the Club World Cup on June 14 and are said to be willing to meet the salary Fernandes is believed to be seeking.

However, later that evening, it was reported that United had made it clear they have no intention of selling the 30-year-old, as he is seen as a central figure in Ruben Amorim’s plans at Old Trafford.

Al-Hilal ‘want to discuss’ three things with Fernandes

Al-Hilal have reportedly put a big sum of money on the table to try and convince Fernandes, with a three-year contract worth £65 million per season. They are also said to be willing to offer United a British record sale fee for their player.

However, reports from Saudi journalist Ahmed Aljadi have claimed that Fernandes’ agents initially rejected the proposal from the Middle East.

It was added that they had promised to speak to Fernandes about the proposal and that a third meeting was expected between the player’s representatives and the Saudi club in the coming days.

Despite the initial rejection, Al-Hilal want to speak about Fernandes’ demands, including salary, housing, and all contract terms to try and convince of accepting the move.

There is an eye-watering amount of money on the table for this deal but the Saudi club cannot wait long for a decision, with reports elsewhere suggesting that a final decision must be communicated in the next week.

United’s stance on Fernandes interest is clear

United’s position on the situation is clear. They do not want to sell their captain and will reject offers for him this summer. It appears that the player has a similar stance.

That will not stop the Saudi club from doing all they can to convince Fernandes, and with the money on offer, no one would blame him for taking the deal.

But the 30-year-old clearly still has ambitions in football and also wants to help lead this United rebuild. He is key to Amorim’s plans going forward.

If he ends up rejecting this kind of money, United cannot continue to let him down on the pitch, with a big summer window needed to bolster the team around him.
