“Ain’t this Rooney?” Man United fans rave about starlet after academy performance

Manchester United fans have been raving about the performance of academy star Amir Ibragimov, who made his debut for the United U18s against Leeds United.

Manchester United U18s have had a perfect start to their league season, having won all 13 games and currently sitting 14 points ahead of Manchester City in second.

They have scored 42 league goals across the season so far and conceded just seven, making them THE standout U18s team across the country.

Amir Ibragimov, 15, today made both his first appearance of the season for the U18s against Leeds and his debut for the U21s against Norwich, playing 30 minutes against Leeds with the U18s and receiving a further 10 minutes for the U21s at Old Trafford.

In a minute-long compilation showing Ibragimov’s involvement with the U18s, multiple fans have pointed out the similarities between the Russian-born teenager and United legend Wayne Rooney.

“Ain’t this Rooney?” One fan said, while another exclaimed: “Brother what’s Rooney doing at the U-18s?”

Ibragimov’s involvement in both games today at just 15 years of age shows how highly rated he is within United’s academy setup, and will no doubt be making further youth appearances as the season progresses.
